In short, this is a song Leonard wrote recalling an encounter he had with Janis Joplin. I will let the lyrics tell the story.. The song is called #2 because Leonard originally wrote an earlier, longer version of this song.
Go figure, Gregory Alan Isakov covered this song and that is how I first came upon it. More importantly though, it is how I started listening to and appreciating Leonard Cohen's songwriting and music.
I apologize about the current "Muddy" tone of my archtop guitar -if the tone sounds a bit off.. I am still trying to figure out tone and white noise removal. It's a learning process, like everything else. I'll put it out anyways as I just wanted to be good on my word about getting into the habit of sharing a song every few weeks. I can always record it again in the future :D
