I recall creating this melody in the Spring after several days of howling wind either in March or April. I am pretty sure it was in April, because most of us here in the Midwest know that March is always super winder. I was kind of fed up with the constant howling winds and I believe this melody came out of that state of melancholy I was feeling at the time. The song kind of made me think of the Dust Bowl days and the folks impatiently waiting for the winds to die and the dust to settle. I'm sure the artwork is partially familiar to some as the figures are taken from Arthur Rothstein's famous photograph. Rothstein documented the struggle of Americans during the Dust Bowl and Great Depression.
