Tiptoe Through The Tulips -Al Dubin & Joe Burke

Taken From My Facebook Post:

"Funny thing is I first recall hearing Tiny Tim's version of this song on Spongebob years ago. More recently, I have been really into Leon Redbone and that kind of got me listening to a few Tin Pan Alley records. The song resurfaced there.. Once again, I just think it is a fun melody and a catchy tune. Been awhile since I've shared a tune so here is this one for fun "Tiptoe Through the Tulips" first published in 1929."

Just like Henry Clay Work's "Kingdom Coming (Year of Jubilo)" (a song I shared in an earlier entry) this song had also found its way into an early motion picture, as well as, an early cartoon score: "Gold Diggers of Broadway" (1929) and Looney Tunes "Sinkin' in the Bathtub" (1930).

My favorite version of the song is Benjamin Franklin Hotel Dance Orchestra's version. It still continues to blow my mind that there are people out there who took the time to even put this music (and these video clips) on the internet :)
